East Tennessee around Knoxville

This photo of the wet-weather terrain around Knoxville is a good representation of the region.

Gives you a sense of the rural side of the place in case you’ve never been there, also like what the soldiers of 1863 knew as opposed to the urban sprawl that’s taken its place since then. Although their view in November, 1863, would have been more snowy. This is the view they might have dreamed of.

The photo was taken by Glenn Reynolds, UT-Knoxville’s Instapundit blogging law professor. He hasn’t copyrighted it so I presume it’s okay to use, with the usual Creative Commons tip-o-the-hat credit to him. Thanks, Glenn.
