The real Sixteenth Georgia

Private Horatio J. David of the Center Hill Guards of the Sixteenth Georgia, who was a lieutenant by the time they followed the Phillips Georgia Legion in the Nov. 29 assault on Fort Sanders. David would survive the battle and the war.

After the War he was a farmer, probably in cotton, in Banks County, Georgia. He died at Maysville in 1923 at just over 80 years of age.”
